Factors Affecting The Pap Smear Examination To Women Of Reliable Age In Pajalesang Subdistrict Wara District Palopo City

Abstract

Cervical cancer is one of the most common causes of death for women in Indonesia. The factors that influence the increase in the number of cervical cancer in Indonesia are influenced by public perceptions of cervical cancer and the motivation to do a Pap smear examination is very low. This study aims to determine the factors that influence pap smear examination in women of childbearing age in Pajalesang Village, Wara District, Palopo City. The research design used was cross sectional, with a total sample of 42 people with purposive sampling method. The data collection tool uses a questionnaire. From the results of the study, it was found that there was a relationship between knowledge and pap smears with p value = 0.032 <0.05. Then there is a relationship between attitude and Pap smear with a value of p = 0.012 <0.05. And also there is a relationship between husband's support and Pap smear with p value = 0.004 <0.05. It is hoped that with the results of this study, women of childbearing age can increase their self-awareness to do a Pap smear to prevent cervical cancer early
