Abstract

Description of Public Knowledge about the Use of Immunomodulators as Therapy to Improve Immunity in Exod. To’bulungKec. Bara Kota Palopo . With the increasing prevalence of viral infections at this time, people are required to have to increase endurance or immunity stronger so that it is not easily infected by various viruses that enter the body. Materials that can modulate the body's immune system are known as immunomodulators. Clinically immunomodulators are used in patients with impaired immunity.

This research was conducted in To'Bulung Village, Bara Subdistrict, Palopo City in 2020. The research design used in this study was analytic correlation with “cross-functional approach. The population in this study was 191 people. The sampling technique uses slovin formula, so that the sample in this study amounted to 66 people.

The results obtained are that the respondent who has the highest level of good knowledge is 54.5%, the respondents aged 20-29 years, female respondents have a better level of knowledge compared to male respondents that is equal to 18.6%, respondents who have the highest level of good knowledge is 32.7%, respondents who have a high school education, and respondents who have the highest level of good knowledge, 12.2%, respondents who work as housewives.

It is expected that health workers, especially for pharmaceutical workers, will continue to provide education or health education about the use of immunomodulators as a therapy to increase immunity to the community.
