Factors Related To EventDepression In Elderly In Sawerigading HospitalPalopo City

Abstract

Depression is a mental health problem that is often in the elderly (elderly). There are various risk factors associated with the incidence of depression in the elderly. This study aims to determine factors related to the incidence of depression in the elderly in the working area of Sawerigading Hospital in Palopo City in 2019. The research used was survey research with a cross sectional study approach. The sample in the study was 40 patients treated in the edelweiss room with an accidental sampling method. The results showed that there was a relationship between family support and the incidence of depression in the elderly with a value of p=0,001 (<0,05). There is a relationship between physical condition and the incidence of depression in the elderly with the value p=0,002 (<0,05). There is no correlation between knowledge and the incidence of depression in the elderly  with a value of p=0,052 (>0,05) in the working area of Sawerigading Hospital in Palopo City in 2019. By paying attention to the results of research with all the limitations they have. The results of this study also pay attention to the importance of factors associated with the incidence of depression in the elderly
