The Effect Of Giving Warm Water Compresses On Reducing Menstrual Pain (Dysmenhorrhea) In Adolescent Girls At Frater Palopo High School

Adolescence is a transition from childhood to adulthood which experiences the development of all aspects/functions to enter adulthood. Adolescence is the stage between childhood and adulthood. Growth and development during adolescence is very rapid, both physically and psychologically. The reproductive organs in adolescents begin to function. One of the characteristics of puberty is the start of menstruation in women. Dysmenorrhea is pain felt in the lower abdomen or cramps before menstruation which lasts 2-3 days, starting the day before menstruation starts.This research will be carried out at Palopo Frater High School in 2023. The method used in this research is an experimental approach, which aims at a research design used to look for cause and effect to analyze the effect of giving warm water compresses on reducing menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea) at Frater High School Palopo. The sample in this study was 34 respondents. The sampling technique in this research is total sampling. This type of research uses pre-experimental, with a one group pretest-posttest design type.The results of this research showed that the dysmenorrhea pain scale before warm water compresses were applied was on a severe scale, namely 23 respondents (68.6%) and a moderate scale of 8 respondents (23.5%). After applying a warm water compress, the mild pain scale was obtained, namely 30 respondents (88.2%). The resulting P value is 0.001 (<0.05), so Ha is accepted. There is an effect of giving warm water compresses on reducing menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea) in young women at Palopo Frater High School.
