THE INFLUENCE OF GIVING LEAFLETS ON PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE ABOUT DRUG TRADITIONAL IN PONGSOE VILLAGE PONGKO VILLAGE WALENRANG UTARA SUBDISTRICT

Currently, traditional medicine or what is known as herbal medicine is very widely used by Indonesian people. The proportion of households that utilize traditional health services is 31.4%. People generally choose to use traditional medicine because they have a good perception of traditional medicine. However, there are still some people who do not know about the types of traditional medicine and how to differentiate between legal and illegal traditional medicine preparations. This research aims to determine the effect of providing leaflets on community knowledge about traditional medicine in Pongsoe Hamlet, Pongko Village, North Walenrang District. This research method is quasi-experimental research (quazi experiment), with a one group pretest and posttest design. The research was conducted by measuring the difference in knowledge before and after providing intervention in the form of counseling with the help of leaflet media to one group of respondents. Measuring differences in knowledge was carried out using a research instrument, namely a validated questionnaire. The research results showed that based on data analysis using the Kolmogorov Smirnov Normality test, the Sig value was obtained. 0.200 > 0.05 and the Paired Sample T Test p 0.000 < 0.05 which concludes that there is an influence of education on public knowledge about traditional medicine using leaflet media which can increase respondents' knowledge.
