The Influence of Education on the Level of Knowledge and Attitudes of the Community Regarding Dagusibu Antibiotics in Baloa Hamlet, District. West Bajo District. Luwu in 2023

Abstract

Antibiotics are a class of drugs used to treat bacterial infections. Inappropriate use of antibiotics by society can cause antibiotic resistance. One factor that influences the use of antibiotics is the level of knowledge of the community. This research aims to determine the effect of education on the level of knowledge and attitudes of the community regarding DAGUSIBU antibiotics in Baloa Hamlet, Kec. West Bajo District. Luwu in 2023. Data collection was carried out by counseling using a Quasy experimental research design with a pre test post test control group approach to 40 people in the control group and 40 people in the treatment group by administering a questionnaire. The results of the research before education was carried out, in the treatment group the level of good knowledge was 30%. After the Dagusibu education, antibiotics increased by 70%. Meanwhile, the control group experienced an increase of 65%. Before education was carried out, 40% of the treatment group had a positive attitude. After being given education, positive attitudes increased by 50%. Meanwhile, the control group experienced an increase of 60%. Providing education influences the level of public knowledge and attitudes about the antibiotic DAGUSIBU because the p value is 0.000 < 0.05. It is hoped that the public will seek official sources of information from health workers and it is hoped that health workers will provide education to the public about the good and correct antibiotic DAGUSIBU to increase public knowledge
