Evaluation of Antiretroviral (ARV) Drugs Use in HIV-AIDS Patients Based on The Characteristics At Public Health Center of Wara Palopo City 2019-2022

Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) is a collection of symptoms that arise due to damage to the human immune system due to infection Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is a virus that attacks the immune system. This research method is a qualitative descriptive study by interviewing one of the HIV/AIDS specialists. The purpose of this study was to describe the use of antiretroviral drugs in HIV-AIDS patients at the Wara Public Health Center, Palopo City which includes the types of drugs and characteristics of HIV-AIDS patients. The results of the study from September 11, 2019 to June 2022 were 22 patients, 18 (81.8%) male and 4 (18.2%) female. Ages 21-30 are the age group most affected by HIV-AIDS as many as 8 (36.4%) people with the most work as private employees, namely 5 (22.7%) people. The use of drugs is based on the classification, namely Nucloside Reverse Transcriptase Inhibitor (NRTI) and Non Nucloside Reverse Transcriptase Inhibitor (nNRTI). The types of drugs used are Tenolam E, Lamivudine, efavirenz, and tenofovir.
