Abstract

The golden periode is an important and critical period which is lasted during the age of 0-5 years. At this period, growth and development occurs quickly and takes place continuously. The purpose of this study was to determine the difference in the growth and development of childrens who received exclusive breastfeeding from those who did not get exclusive breastfeeding. The research was conducted in Balirejo Village with a total sample of 46 children. The research design used is comparative descriptive, in which this research using a comparative study method. Based on the research objectives, the research design uses a Cross Sectional approach, which is a research design by making measurements or observations at the same time. The results of the study based on the Mann Whitney test which is calculated by Z value = - 4781 with p-value = 0.00 anf because of the p-value (0.00) < ? (0.05), so it was concluded that there were significant differences in exclusive breastfeeding and with those who did not get exclusive breastfeeding to the growth and development of children. It is recommended to continue health promotion education to the public about the differences in the growth and development of children who are exclusive breastfeeding with those who are not, to increase knowledge about the importance of exclusive breastfeeding.
