Abstract

Pain after surgery is caused by mechanical stimulation of wounds that cause the body to produce pain chemical mediators. Grasping a finger while breathing slowly (relaxation) can reduce physical and emotional tension, this technique is called finger holding technique. This research was conducted in the Care of a Surgery at Sawerigading Palopo Regional Hospital in 2019. The type of research used was Quasi Experiment with the form of pre-post test with control grup, with the aim of knowing the effect of Finger Grip Relaxation on Decreasing Pain Intensity. The sample used was 50 respondents who were postoperative patients with the sampling consecutive sampling method. Results: the study obtained Asymp.sig values. (0,000) <0.05. Conclusion: the influence of hand-held relaxation on the decrease in pain intensity in post-operative patients Suggestion: can be an alternative to decrease pain intensity especially in post-operative patients
