Abstract

The lime plant is one of the fruits that is famous and liked by the people of Indonesia. The part of the lime that is most often used as waste is the skin. Most people still don't know that lime peel has many benefits, one of the properties it has is as an antiacnes. Antiacnes is a skin disease caused by the microbe Propionibacterium acnes. P. acnes bacteria can disrupt the stability of the cell layer that forms the follicle wall so it can quickly trigger inflammation. This inflammation can take the form of folliculitis and acne vulgaris. Inflammation of the face is most commonly known as acne. This study aims to determine the potential of lime peel waste as an antiacnes. The method used to extract the active substance is reflux, while the method used to test the anti-acnes potential is the agar diffusion method with clindamicyn concentration as a positive control, aquadest as a negative control, 10, 15 and 20%. The results were showed the extract of the lime peel had by the presence of a clear color around the paper disk. The 10% concentration value of 14.33 cm, for the 15% concentration value of 16 cm, for the 20% concentration value of 18.33 cm, while the clindamicyn was 22.67cm and the aquadest was not found to have any resistance. that can be the extract of the lime peel indicated chemical compounds for potency of lime peel as anti-acnes.
